We have developed a self-assessment tool for Pharmacists to check if they have the right competencies to deliver reviews and this tool together with DES-SMR training programme will equip the Pharmacist with the right skills and knowledge to start delivering SMRs in your practice.

Our team of experienced Clinical Pharmacists has worked together with Danny Bartlett who is one of the first PCN pharmacists who currently works within West Sussex CCG and has trained and supported other PCN pharmacists within his CCG to deliver SMRs.

Course pre-requisites:

Level 2 Pharmacists- take a self-assessment here to identify your competency level and receive an instant personalised report.

This programme consists of online videos, guides, and assessments prior to attending a one-day workshop facilitated by experienced Pharmacist Danny Bartlett.

During the workshop, Pharmacists will be able to install the DES-SMR template (EMIS/S1) and work through it step by step under the guidance of the facilitator and address any problems or questions the Pharmacists may have.

After this programme the Pharmacists will:

• Understand the importance of the role of SMR in General Practice

• Be able to use our specific custom-built template that ensures the correct read-codes are entered

• Gather information from the patient efficiently

• Increase the clinical impact of the SMR

• Deliver SMRs safely and efficiently
